Chinese teas are natural adaptogens, meaning they help our bodies manage the impact of stress and restore health and balance. They are also natural nootropics or 'cognitive enhancers', boosting brain function and increasing alertness.

Chinese teas contains a unique amino acid called L-theanine. L-theanine works by crossing the blood-brain barrier and increasing neurotransmitter levels of GABA, serotonin, and dopamine. This leads to improved mood and mental clarity. L-theanine’s neuroprotective effects also promote alpha brainwave activity thought to put us in a relaxed yet focused state.

Pu'erh Tea Gung
Pu'erh is a heavy, grounding tea. It is best drunk when doing the earth mother palm in circle walking and standing meditation.
When used in standing it activates the stomach meridian, allowing an magnetic exchange with the meridien and the energy of earth.
When used with the mother palm in circle walking it helps keep the whole body grounded while moving.
For health I drink the pu'erh tea in the evening to help cleanse the body of environmental toxins of the day and energetically prepare the body and mind for dreamtime. If drunk late at night, when the sky is as dark as the first steeping of the tea it can be helpful in stimulating creative thinking or planning.
